Ledger is a personal finance tool with exactly one user: its author, Alexander Wick. It is not offered to anyone else and has no other accounts.

What it accesses

With the author's own permission, Ledger reads email from the author's own Gmail account using the gmail.readonly scope. It searches only for merchant receipts, in order to recover the itemization that a bank statement omits.

What it stores

• Receipt details: merchant, date, amount, and line items.
• A stable identifier per receipt, so re-reading one is not duplicated.

Stored in a private database on a server the author administers, reachable only over HTTPS. Message bodies are not retained after parsing.

What it never does

• Send, delete, or modify mail. The scope granted is read-only.
• Share, sell, or transfer data to anyone. There is no third party.
• Use data for advertising, profiling, or training any model.
• Serve any user other than the author.

Retention and deletion

Data is kept until the author deletes it, which he can do at any time by deleting the database. Access can be revoked at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which stops all future reads immediately.

Ledger's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
